The City of Cape Town is inviting registered non-profit organisations to apply for grant funding to deliver programmes in vulnerable communities during the 2026/27 financial year. Applications are invited across three programme areas:
Substance Abuse Prevention
Preventative programmes for children, teenagers and families, focused on reducing risk, developing practical skills and strengthening families and communities.
Gender Programmes
Preventative programmes working with families, teenage boys and teenage girls to promote gender equality, address the drivers of gender-based violence and strengthen protective factors within families and communities.
Early Childhood Caregiver Support
Programmes that equip parents and caregivers of young children with practical skills and resources to support learning and development at home.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants should be registered non-profit organisations, including NPOs, NGOs, Section 21 companies and trusts. Proposed projects must align with the City’s strategic aims and include a clear and realistic budget.

How to Apply
The same application process applies to all three programme areas. Applicants must complete the City’s official Grants-in-Aid application form, provide the required supporting documents and be registered on both the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and the City’s Supply Chain Management Database. Both registration numbers must appear on the application. Completed applications and supporting documents can be submitted to:

Applications close at 12:00 on 14 September 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

If your organisation works in one of these areas, take a look at the requirements and make sure your completed application is submitted before the deadline.
