Have Your Say: Ward Allocation Projects for Welgemoed

What improvements would you like to see in Welgemoed?

The City of Cape Town allocates approximately R1 million annually to our ward for community improvement projects. WCID invites residents to suggest projects we can put forward to our Ward Councillor for consideration, helping Welgemoed secure its fair share of this funding. Previous projects include park lighting at Chavonne and Goewerneur Parks and the water fountain at Goewerneur Park.

Projects should be once-off improvements that do not require ongoing annual funding.

Ideas could include:

  • New or improved pathways and sidewalks
  • Additional drinking-water fountains in parks

Please note: Traffic-calming requests, including speed bumps, should generally be addressed through the City’s normal roads and transport budget rather than ward allocation funding.

Please email info@welgemoedcid.co.za with the proposed location, a brief description of the project and how it would benefit the community. WCID will review submissions and put suitable proposals forward to the Ward Councillor for consideration.
