Keeping Welgemoed’s parks, verges and public spaces looking their best requires the right people, equipment and planning. As part of WCID’s ongoing focus on improving service delivery, the Cleaning & Greening portfolio has taken delivery of a dedicated vehicle and will appoint a new Cleaning & Greening Team Leader in the coming months, to oversee operations across the suburb.

The new role reflects a more hands-on approach to managing the portfolio. Working alongside the team, the Team Leader will coordinate daily cleaning and greening activities, monitor the condition of parks and public spaces, and help ensure that maintenance is carried out to a consistently high standard. The position replaces the previous Biodiversity and Sustainability Manager role, bringing day-to-day leadership closer to the work on the ground.

Residents will soon begin seeing the Cleaning & Greening team out and about in their dedicated vehicle as they continue caring for Welgemoed’s parks, verges and public spaces. As WCID’s greening portfolio continues to grow, these improvements will help the team work more efficiently while maintaining the high standard of service residents have come to expect.
