Property Valuation Objections – City of Cape Town
Welgemoed residents are reminded that the General Valuation Roll (GV2025) is currently open for inspection and objections. If you believe your property valuation is incorrect, you have the right to submit an objection.
Deadline: 30 April 2026, Late submissions will not be accepted.
What can you object to?
- Incorrect property value
- Wrong property category (e.g. residential vs business)
- Incorrect property details (size, extent, etc.)
How to submit an objection:
- Visit the City’s valuation roll website Here:
- Search for your property Here:
- Complete the official objection form
- Attach supporting documents (e.g. comparable sales, valuation reports)
- Submit online or as instructed by the City

Important to remember:
- Objections must be submitted before the deadline
- Each property requires a separate objection form
- You must continue paying your municipal account while the objection is processed
