SNAKE SEASON – Awareness in Welgemoed

Share >>

With warmer weather approaching, the Welgemoed CID would like to remind residents, especially those living close to nature reserves of the increased likelihood of snake activity in our area. Each year, as temperatures rise, snakes become more active and may occasionally move into residential spaces near greenbelts and nature areas.

The African Snakebite Institute (ASI) has released city-specific snake awareness booklets that include helpful posters and first-aid guidelines. These resources are valuable to keep on hand, particularly for households near the reserves.

We encourage residents to stay alert, educate family members, and keep these safety materials nearby.
