The Welgemoed City Improvement District (WCID) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 4 November 2025, where members voted on key matters shaping the year ahead. We would like to thank all members who attended, participated, and exercised their voting rights. Your involvement helps guide the continued progress of our safe, clean, green, and caring community.

Director Elections
The following individuals stood for election as Welgemoed CID Directors:
- Abie Fortuin
- Anika Nell
- Jay Parma
- Hessel Turkstra
- Chris van Rooyen
- Emuel Venter
The election of directors was conducted on the basis of majority support, as outlined during the AGM. In other words, any candidate receiving more votes in favour than against was duly elected as a director. The proposed limit of five directors was discussed at the meeting but was neither adopted nor applied in this election. The matter of establishing a director limit will be revisited in future discussions, accompanied by a practical proposal.
Following the vote, the following nominees were elected as directors:

- Chris van Rooyen
- Emuel Venter
We congratulate the newly elected board and thank all nominees for their willingness to serve. Together, we look forward to their leadership, insights, and commitment in guiding the Welgemoed CID through the next term.
PUBLIC NOTICE: Invitation for Comments and Objections on Amended Term 2 Business Plan
The Welgemoed City Improvement District (WCID) hereby notifies all additional ratepayers and members of the local community that the amended Term 2 Business Plan (Click Here) was approved by WCID members at the Annual General Meeting held on 4 November 2025.
Objections from Additional Ratepayers
Any additional ratepayer who wishes to object to the amendments may submit a written objection by 5 December 2025.
Please note: The amendments may be approved by the City if written objections are not received from at least 41% of additional ratepayers.
Comments from the Community
Members of the local community, including property owners, residents, tenants, body corporates, civic organizations, and non-governmental, private sector or Labour organizations, are encouraged to review the amended business plan and submit written comments by 5 December 2025.
