Residents of Welgemoed, Door de Kraal and Kenridge are invited to lend a hand and come and support the already 50 passionate volunteers from SALT, Friends of Door de Kraal and Welgemoed CID to restore two special places in our neighborhood: the Transnet grounds neighboring Willowbridge Shopping Centre and, if time allows, the Door de Kraal dam. Our plan is cut back invasive Port Jackson and other alien species, applying the correct treatments, removing of snares and reclaiming these spaces for nature and our community. Volunteers will also be picking up litter that accumulates in these beautiful areas.
Why It Matters
Every tree we clear, every bag of litter we collect, and every patch of land we restore takes us one step closer to a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful Welgemoed.
