The City of Cape Town is inviting all interested and affected parties to comment on the draft 2050 Cape Town Long-term Plan (LTP). The plan outlines a strategic and forward-looking roadmap aimed at shaping the city’s future. Long-term planning is critical to ensure economic growth, enhance infrastructure efficiency, and ensure that the City of Cape Town continues to meet the evolving needs of both current and future generations.
The purpose of the LTP is to provide a structured and forward-thinking framework for the city’s growth, development, and sustainability over an extended period (i.e. the next 25 years). In terms of section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, the public and interested parties or groups are given the opportunity to submit comments to the municipality from 1 July 2025 to 12 September 2025.
