Published on: Aug 17, 2026

Welgemoed CID is reviewing how pedestrian and emergency access is managed at several locations around Welgemoed. In some areas, gates and fencing are already in place, while at others additional access controls are being considered. Before any changes are made, residents are invited to provide their feedback on the proposed access arrangements.

The five locations being considered are:

  • Medical Centre Stairs – Jip de Jager Drive
  • Kommandeur / Nederburgh Street Access
  • Kommissaris / Wylant Access – Jip de Jager
  • Petal Street – Emergency Access
  • Jip de Jager / Lincoln Street Access

For each location, the survey explains the current access, why a change is being considered, what is proposed and how residents may be affected. We would particularly like to hear from residents whose households regularly use these access points, including where they are used by family members, employees or regular visitors. Your feedback will help WCID understand how these access points are used and consider the practical impact of the proposed changes before decisions are made.

Residents are encouraged to review the information for each location and complete the online survey before close of business on the 31st August.
