The City of Cape Town is inviting all interested and affected parties to comment on the updated draft of its Traffic Calming Policy, the guideline used to assess and manage applications for traffic calming measures across the city. Aligned with the City’s Comprehensive Integrated Transport Plan (CITP) and Road Safety Strategy, the updated policy aims to reduce deaths and injuries by creating safer streets for everyone.
For many in Welgemoed, traffic safety is a long-standing concern, particularly around schools, busy intersections, and residential streets where speeding is a regular complaint. This is a key opportunity for residents to make their voices heard and help influence how future traffic calming requests are assessed and prioritised.
