Welgemoed CID’s Public Safety team has received a fire pack donated by Fidelity ADT, adding another practical resource to the equipment available to WCID Public Safety Officers when responding to incidents in Welgemoed.
The fire pack has been installed in one of the WCID PSO vehicles and provides officers with an additional first-response resource for fire-related incidents. The equipment can be used to respond to smaller fires in public spaces or, where it is safe to do so, to help contain a developing fire until the City’s Fire & Rescue Service arrives.

This does not replace the City’s professional firefighting service. Rather, it gives Welgemoed CID officers who may already be patrolling nearby a practical resource to assist during the important first few minutes of an incident.
WCID Operations Manager Arndt Mittendorf thanked Fidelity ADT for the contribution.
“Our Public Safety Officers are often already out in the community when an incident is reported. The fire pack gives them another practical resource to respond to smaller fires or, where possible, help contain a fire until the City’s Fire & Rescue Service arrives. Residents can alert our Public Safety team through the existing SOS WCID EAST and SOS WCID WEST EMERGENCY WhatsApp Groups, or contact the WCID Security Control Room directly on 086 1212 315.”
As part of the initiative, WCID Public Safety Officers will also receive ongoing training to develop their basic first-response capabilities and ensure the equipment is used safely and appropriately.
Fidelity ADT Western Cape General Manager Douglas Theron welcomed the opportunity for Fidelity ADT to support WCID with additional emergency-response equipment.
“We are pleased to support the Welgemoed CID with equipment that can make a practical difference when an emergency occurs. Working together and having the right resources available can help local safety teams provide valuable assistance until specialised emergency services arrive.”
The donation builds on the existing working relationship between Welgemoed CID and Fidelity ADT, which provides public safety services within the CID, and adds another useful resource to WCID’s existing day-to-day public safety capability.
