The final design for the Goewerneur Park upgrade (Rev 7) has been accepted by the City’s Recreation & Parks Department. The design incorporates the infrastructure requirements and adjustments requested by the City and includes new and relocated play and exercise equipment, fencing, shade, seating, pathways, improved entrances, lawn and indigenous planting areas, including locally significant Cape species.

Phased Implementation

The full design cannot be completed within the R2.5 million currently budgeted for the project and will therefore need to be implemented in phases. The WCID Board is reviewing the detailed costing to determine what can be included in each phase and how best to allocate the available budget.

Public Participation

The Board would like to invite residents to a third online feedback session to present the final design and discuss the proposed implementation phases and costs.
