Thank You for Your Patience During Ongoing Infrastructure Works

Welgemoed CID would like to thank residents for their continued patience and consideration while the City of Cape Town carries out water and sewer infrastructure upgrades across parts of Welgemoed. These projects are essential to maintaining reliable services and ensuring the long-term resilience of our infrastructure. The notice regarding these upgrades can be read Here

We recognise that the associated roadworks, temporary closures, and obstructions can be inconvenient, particularly during peak travel times. We have, however, been encouraged by the way in which residents and road users have approached these disruptions with patience and understanding. A Continued Request to Residents as work progresses, we ask that all residents and road users:

  • Please remain patient when travelling through affected areas
  • Obey temporary traffic signage and instructions from traffic officials
  • Respect right-of-way arrangements where roads are narrowed or partially closed
  • Exercise caution around work zones for the safety of both workers and fellow residents
  • Working Together

These upgrades are temporary, but the benefits are long-term. By working together and maintaining safe, respectful road use, we can help ensure that the work is completed efficiently and safely. Welgemoed CID will continue to monitor the impact of these projects and engage with the City where necessary.

Thank you for your cooperation and for contributing to a safer, more considerate community.”
